Boarding (Kennels)

What bedding do you provide?

We provide clean bedding — either soft or sack-style depending on your dog’s size and needs. However, we always recommend bringing your pet’s own bed or blanket, as familiar scents help them feel more comfortable during their stay.

What food do you provide?

We feed premium Royal Canin, but we’re happy to serve the diet you supply.

Can you give my dog medication?

Yes. We administer simple medications as instructed at no extra cost. Please provide clear directions.

Do dogs mix together?

No. Dogs are housed and exercised separately for safety.

Is there staff onsite overnight?

Yes. Staff live onsite and monitor the facility 24/7.

Can I view the kennels before booking?

Yes, viewings are welcome. Please contact us to arrange a time.

What vaccinations are required?

Dogs must be vaccinated against:

  • Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Adenovirus-2
  • Parainfluenza & Leptospirosis
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
What are the drop-off and pick-up hours?
  • Mon–Fri: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Sat–Sun: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Do you offer pick-up and drop-off?

Yes, subject to advance booking and availability.

Do you offer discounts for long stays or multiple dogs?

Yes. Multi-dog discounts are available, and long-term boarding can be quoted individually.

Daycare

Do dogs play together in daycare?

No. At QPS, daycare dogs are always cared for separately with one-on-one staff interaction.

Is daycare good for reactive or anxious dogs?

Yes. Our daycare is designed for dogs who prefer human company rather than group play.

How much does daycare cost?

$25 per dog, per day.

Do I need to book daycare in advance?

Yes, booking is essential.

Can puppies attend daycare?

Yes, as long as they are fully vaccinated.

What happens if I’m late for pick-up?

Do cats share space?

No. Each cat has its own private suite unless owners request to house siblings together.

How much does cat boarding cost?

Yes. Our daycare is designed for dogs who prefer human company rather than group play.

How much does daycare cost?
  • Single cat: $19 per night
  • Two cats (sharing): $35 per night
What bedding do you provide?

We provide clean bedding, but many cats settle faster with their own familiar bed or blanket. We recommend owners bring one from home.

What vaccinations are required for cats?

Cats must be vaccinated against:

  • Feline Enteritis (Panleukopenia)
  • Feline Respiratory Disease (Cat Flu: Rhinotracheitis & Calicivirus)

Quarantine

How long is quarantine in New Zealand?

Most pets stay around 10 days, but this depends on MPI clearance. Stays may be longer if MPI requires extra checks or if pets are from certain islands/countries.

What time can I collect my pet from quarantine?

MPI issues release certificates in the afternoon. Pets can only be collected after 1:00 pm on release day.

Can I visit my pet during quarantine?

No. MPI rules do not allow visits.

How will I receive updates?

We send email/photo updates on Days 1, 3, 6, and 9.

Can I request extra updates?

We provide structured updates only. Premium update packages may be available.

What food do you provide in quarantine?

Royal Canin is provided. Owner-supplied diets are welcome but must comply with MPI rules.

Can you feed raw food in quarantine?

No. MPI does not allow raw feeding in quarantine.

Can you give my pet medication in quarantine?

Yes. We administer simple medications as instructed.

What happens if my pet becomes unwell in quarantine?

Our partner vets are available on call. MPI is notified, and treatment is provided immediately.

Can my pets share a room in quarantine?

Yes, but only if they arrive together and MPI approves.

Do pets exercise outside during quarantine?

No. MPI requires pets to remain in their rooms for the duration. Enrichment and human interaction are provided instead.

What can I send with my pet to quarantine?

Toys, bedding, and food are welcome — but toys and bedding cannot be returned home after quarantine (MPI rule).

Can I send treats?

Yes, if they are store-bought and commercially packaged. Home-cooked or raw treats are not permitted.

What if MPI delays clearance?

Your pet stays safely at QPS until MPI grants release. Additional days may apply.

What if my pet’s flight is delayed?

We coordinate with MPI to reschedule your pet’s arrival into quarantine.

Do you guarantee release on Day 10?

No. Release depends on MPI clearance. Most pets are cleared on Day 10, but MPI may extend the stay.

How do I book quarantine?

Request a quote online. Once confirmed, our team guides you through the MPI paperwork.

Transport

Do you collect pets from Auckland Airport?

Yes. Our Quarantine Transport Coordinator collects pets directly from MPI clearance at the airport.

Do you offer transport for boarding and cattery?

Yes, pick-up and drop-off are available by advance booking, subject to availability.

Do you offer international transport?

This service is currently a work in progress. Please contact us for updates.

Is your transport MPI-compliant?

Yes. Transport is handled in line with MPI-approved security procedures.
